Looking for a new way to see the city of Melbourne and its waterways? Perfect for beginners, this sea kayak tour is a great way to get up close and personal to watch yachts, ferries and ships passing by. Your kayak experience begins with a short brief. You are then kitted up with a PFD, spray deck, paddle jacket, thermals and a paddle before the all important safety briefing including a dry capsize drill. Once you have done a few warm up stretches, you will be paired up into paddling partners. Most sea kayaks are double sea kayaks with a couple of single kayaks available for the more experienced paddlers in the group. After going though some basic strokes for 10 minutes, you’ll set out on the adventure paddling as a group.

Relax as you take in stunning Melbourne city views from the water’s edge whilst historical commentary is provided. Watch the sun go down and the city light go on! Snacks and a rest stop are provided half way along the trip. On the way back stop for the spectacular pyrotechnics (exploding flames) at the Crown Casino. It looks amazing from the water and is one of the highlights of the tour. When the group returns to the start, the gear is packed away and you can change into some warm clothes. After a couple of hours kayaking, you will have worked up a bit of an appetite, so there is plenty of opportunity at the conclusion of the kayak tour to visit one of the many cafes or restaurants surrounding the South Bank area. This tour is family friendly.
